Uchu Kaiseki Bar

Update: Uchu Sushi Bar remains open, but Uchu Kaiseki Bar is now closed.

When we talk about dining, it is always about the food, the service, and the ambiance. At the Kaiseki Bar at Uchu, the meal was delicious, the service attentive, and the interior beautiful and cozy. But there was also another element that we seldom talk about. As an 8-seat, square counter, dinner becomes an intimate and communal experience. The simultaneous buzz of excitement over the procession of each course and the shared act of eating together bring about a collective happiness that is felt throughout the room. In the near-silence as plates are scraped, spoons licked clean, you catch glances of your own enjoyment mirrored in the faces of your fellow diners. Although you might not speak even one word to another, the time you spend together heightens the entire meal.
