Le Mousso

Every year, I do a short trip to Montreal, where I basically spend a long weekend eating too much food, although regrettably, never as much as I wish that I could. I rarely do tastings, since it's just not that kind of a town, but at Le Mousso, a single-tasting restaurant, it was an easy decision to make. It all began when I was researching the restaurants that had opened since my last trip, and the insanely beautiful food at Le Mousso blew me away. I couldn't wait to eat here, which made me a little nervous that my expectations were overinflated and that the food couldn't live up to the visual. However, in the end, everything was as delicious as it looked. If anything, I wish that we'd added on the optional course. Lesson learned: Always say yes to more food.

I couldn't talk about eating at Le Mousso without mentioning the fact that Instagram helped convince me to eat here. They have the most beautiful restaurant feed I've ever seen, and before you judge me for saying that, let me make my case for Instagram as a travel tool [non-sponsored opinion]. I know that that sounds superficial, like the embodiment of everything that other generations love to angrily rant about millenials: always chasing trend and hype and technology over true quality. As a semi-picky eater but a highly-particular eater, it's rare that I go to a restaurant without first studying the menu and looking up as many photos of peoples' dining experiences as I can. Instagram makes this easier because you can find a comprehensive - and real-time - collection of photos as the diner sees them. This serves to help you in deciding if it fits in with your personal taste and by creating genuine excitement for your future meal. Plus, you don't have to deal with peoples' "WORST MEAL IN THE EXISTENCE OF TIME", which - let's be honest - the world could use a little less of.
