Hanami at Meguro River

Hanami at Meguro River

SIGHHHHHHHHHH. When I went to Japan, it was a little bit in the earlier part of the cherry blossom season, but we were still supposed to see peak blossoms in Kyoto and Osaka during the second half of the trip. However, a cold front swept through and pushed everything back just enough that the blossoms didn't really started opening until during our last 24 hours. [MF] Some areas I passed by even went from about 10% in bloom to almost 80-90% in the span of less than a day. I caught all this from the windows of the train as I headed back to the apartment to grab my suitcase. Well, at least I didn't have to resort to Plan B: clone-stamping cherry blossoms into all my photos so that I didn't have to return in utter disgrace of going to Japan during cherry blossom season and not seeing a single blossom.

Recommended listening: Death Cab for Cutie's Little Wanderer (because this song always makes me nostalgic for Japan).
